LOC has never hiked this trail before. It has old logging trails and some paths mixed in. This area is the newest addition to St. Clair Region’s conservation areas. It is a 170 acre property that was donated to the SCRCA and has almost 4 km of Sydenham River shoreline. It consists of deciduous forest with dominance of several species of oak. An ancient oxbow valley provides a wetland that harbours lots of wildlife. In the summer of 2008, a colony of Southern (Northern) Oak Hairstreaks was discovered here; this being the first such colony in Canada!
This is not a regular hiking path/trail,lots of wild flowers in the spring, old logging roads & trailsfallen trees, uneven ground, could be wet in spots, possibly icy. Some overgrown areas will need to walk in single file in spots.Trails are not marked or blazed. Ticks are possible
