Non-LOC: Field Survey Assistance at Camp Attawandaron

Les Moir will be at Camp Mon 21st thru Fri 25th of August to continue with the “Citizen Scientist Rust Patched Bumblebee Field Survey” in conjunction with Wildlife Preservation Canada and is asking for help for 2 – 2.5 hrs. This may involve trail clean-up and down and up some steep sections.

Will continue to survey existing sights as well as other new areas of the camp and will require walking the trails and open areas to determine the most additional productive sites. Les has the and C5LS Volunteer Field Survey Data Sheets and will require a minimum of three volunteers per survey team.

Once complete those who show up are more than welcome to spend additional time exploring other areas of the camp. Maps are available.

Les will be leaving St. Michaels in the Grove parking lot around 9:00 am ish. For people who who up at the camp gate Les will be at the camp gate around 9:30 am ish. If the gate is open (Attawandaron Ranger may be on duty), park in the main parking lot just past the bird feeder station, at the bottom of the hill into the main camping areas. Recommend long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat, hiking boots (no open footwear), hiking poles (for hilly parts of trails), Deet, sunscreen, water and snack.

Your assistance is most appreciated.
