About this event

Volunteers for Sarnia Canada Day Parade

Our Club will be having a float and participate in the Canada Day Parade. This a great opportunity to showcase and promote our club. We are asking for members to volunteer to either walk or bike behind the float. If you have any LOC Club apparel, please wear it or wear Canada day themed hiking or biking apparel. Bikers can decorate their bikes with Canada Day flags etc. but make sure the decorations are secured to avoid incidents

The float will have a kayak in a cradle, secured to the float and an LOC member will be pretend paddling. There will be a few Xmas trees to mimic nature/outdoors and skis and poles on display.

We will be playing music to create a lively environment

Meeting Place and Guidelines

Our float will be parked on Lakeshore Drive between Indian and Colborne in order of numbers – Our float number #24. Our guess is that it will be around St Giles Church. Plan to arrive at 10:30 AM. The float will start to move at 11:00 AM.

Washrooms will be available at Baxter Beach and at St Giles Presbyterian Church on Lakeshore for use before the parade starts moving

Lakeshore Road, west of Indian road will be closed at 9AM, therefore you have to get a ride or park close by and walk/bike to the float or park around Canatara and walk/bike up to the float. Distance from Canatara to the parked float is about 2.5 KM

The parade will end at approximately 1PM at Sandy Lane at the west end of Canatara park

Please bring water with you, preferably in reusable bottes.
