About this event

Event Description
It is important for all paddlers to practice wet exit/capsize and rescues at least once per year
We will start with a land exercise of the steps and demonstration of what to do for capsize and rescues.
The group will then be divided into Novice, Intermediate and Experienced for the practice
The Novelists will get individual lessons to gradually get the experience of a capsize. One of the leaders will turn your kayak sideways to get you body in the water, then your body and head, then gradually progress at your comfort level to being upside down. The leader will have control of your kayak to flip you over at all times when you signal by tapping the kayak. You can stop the practice at any time
