Paddling Rules
  1. Comply with the Law - Small Vessel Regulations (SOR/2010-91)

    (Wear a properly fitted PFD, bring a whistle 50 feet of buoyant throw rope bailing device and a propulsion device (aka paddle)).
  2. Understand your responsibilities as a participant in a Lambton Outdoor Club (LOC) paddling event and comply with the items that apply to each event.
  3. Accept the inherent risks of paddling and be responsible for your actions as per LOC Release of Liability Agreement signed annually by all members. 
  4. Inform the leader of safety concerns prior to or during the event. 
  5. If you feel unsafe, withdraw from participation in an event at any time.  If you do, you must inform the event leader of your intention to leave the activity.
  6. Conduct yourself in a safe manner...do not engage in reckless endangerment to yourself or others, as perceived by the event leader.
  7. Stay with the group - you should be able to see a person in front of you and the person behind you (unless you are first/last)
  8. Know the communications protocols for the event, as described by the event leader prior to launching.
  9. Maintain confidentiality. The name(s) of anyone who is injured or experienced yes a medical injury on any LOC event should not be disclosed other than to emergency personnel, their emergency contacts and the event leader
