Our Lambton Outdoor Club has over the past almost 30 years of its existence provided a convenient avenue for its members to enjoy not only the great outdoors but also the opportunity to discover and build new personal relationships. While our membership base comprised of about 200 men and women may be widely diversified by age, experience and skill level, the common element shared by all is an eagerness to get out and discover whatever great adventures may await them.
Our Club is effectively administered by a Council comprised of a volunteer group whose sole purpose is to provide a mechanism for members to remain active throughout the year in a variety of programs including hiking, cycling, paddling and skiing. Each of these programs is organized in a way to ensure that all members regardless of experience or skill level may comfortably participate.
The success of our Club over all those years has been due in great part to the contribution of volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to organizing and leading the various year-round activities. All of these activities are designed to provide our members with the opportunity to enjoy the many health benefits associated with periodic exercise and fresh air.
While the current Covid-19 pandemic has temporarily suspended many planned programs in the interest of safety, we’re hopeful that in the not too distant future, all of us will once again enjoy the great outdoors in a group setting. Once that time arrives, prospective new members will be welcome to try us out on up to three events by contacting the appropriate program coordinator listed on our very informative website. Club events are generally scheduled for several months in advance and are conveniently organized on our website calendar where members and their guests may easily register to participate.
We look forward to the resumption of all our activities. In the meantime, we welcome your comments and suggestions, and most importantly your willingness to volunteer for one or more of our many committees.
