BASIC WILDERNESS FIRST AID TRAINING
IMPORTANT: This is a one day course, being offered on both April 22 and 23rd. Please do not sign up for both days.
Lambton Outdoor Club has contracted Valerie Wood, a wilderness first aid trainer from Toronto, to lead a basic wilderness first aid workshop for club members. The cost to the club is $500 & GST for each class but we have a training allowance; members pay only $20 each. Each session is limited to 15 registrants and includes:
- Accessing 911 and coordinating with first responders in a remote area
- Adult CPR
- Choking
- Allergic reactions, EPI pen protocol and training
- Heart Attack & Stroke Recognition & Care
- Deadly Bleeding
- Breaks, Sprains, Strains
- Head Injuries & Concussions
- Heat & Cold Emergencies
- other items of interest to participants
You can increase your wilderness first aid knowledge by participating in additional components in the afternoon. Please review and register for Level 2 or Level 3 option if you are interested, then register separately for the advance level that suits you.
