Day 1 will begin with a meet and greet at the Shaw Cafe & Wine Bar, 92 Queen St, Niagara-on-the-Lake (metered parking on the main street or free parking on back streets) at 5:00 where drinks are available for purchase on their beautiful street-side patio. Dinner will follow at Corks https://www.corksniagara.com/which is a short walk down the street(19, Queen St, NOTL). A discussion of the next day's activities will ensure questions are answered.
Day 2 will consist of a 0900AM bike ride from downtown Niagara-On-The-Lake (meeting place, at angled parking spots in front of St Andrew's Church on Simcoe St near Johnson St) through the region's countryside and along the Niagara Parkway. A planned stop around 1100AM will be made for a free tour and sampling at CFX Chocolate Factory. (cfxniagara.com )
The morning ride will be around 37 kilometres. Casual lunch ($$) will be at Reif Estate Winery https://reifwinery.com/ and will be followed by an optional tour of the facility (Cost $20/person which will include a tasting flight of 3 wines. Tasting without the tour will also be available for purchase).
From there we will proceed with the afternoon ride which will include 1 more winery stop at Greztky's and Trius which are side by side. https://www.gretzkyestateswines.com/http://www.triuswines.com/(view memorabilia, stroll the property and/or purchase wine, whisky or vodka tastings) followed by one final stop at Oast House Brewery https://oasthousebrewers.com/.(optional free tour and tastings on their patio).
Following this last stop we will return to our cars where the ride started in the morning. The afternoon ride will be around 18 kilometre for a grand total of 55 kilometres for day 2.
After returning to hotel rooms with some time to relax and freshen up, there will be an optional dinner at Johnny Rocco's in St Catherines https://www.johnnyroccos.com/ (700PM) which will conclude the activities for the day.
On day 3 we will ride along the Welland canal from Port Weller to Thorold and back. The morning meeting place will be at 9:00 at Charles Ansell Park (320 Lakeshore Rd at Bunting St, St Catharines). A paved bike and walking path will take us along the canal and hopefully give us an up close view of boats as they navigate the locks. Along the way, we will stop at the Welland Canal Centre and Museum (free admission, donations appreciated) to briefly view exhibits before returning for lunch at MJ's Own Munchies (406 Lakeshore Rd, St Catharines, menu available on their Facebook site) and then some ice cream at the Avondale Dairy https://avondaledairybar.com/(461 Stewart Rd, NOTL) just a short 4.7 kilometres away. After returning to our cars, the trip will conclude in the mid afternoon. The morning portion of the ride will be ~ 35 Kilometres and the total ride for the day will be around 44 kilometres.
