Last year we also had two cabins and despite the lack of snow, we did enjoy a lot of hiking. This year we hope for more snow and colder temperatures to allow for cross country skiing (on groomed trails) and skating (on lighted loop trail that is freshly iced).
We will have a meeting during the first week of February to discuss food and equipment needs. A menu of crockpot dishes usually works. Personal items will include sleeping bags and winter weather clothing. Outdoor sporting equipment may include skis, snowshoes and skates with the appropriate clothing.
