*** THIS IS NOT AN LOC EVENT. The intent is to provide an opportunity for "like minded" LOC Members and their friends to travel as a group and enjoy an adventure AT YOUR OWN RISK.*** The plan is to tour Netherlands in September of 2026: A) South Tour of Holland, and/or B) North Tour - Wadden Sea. Both tours are conducted by Boat Bike Tours (see website: boatbiketours.com). PLEASE NOTE: All tours are "SELF-GUIDED" and are conducted by using a phone app with guidance instructions. Cycling routes are 45 to 60 km per day.
Also offered by John Damoiseaux is an opportunity to explore the south eastern part of Holland known as Limburg.
When: September 12 thru 26, 2026. If you don’t want to do both “back-to-back” adventures… feel free to book just the one you prefer which matches your interest.
Sept 12 to 19th, river boat “De Amsterdam”, cruising and biking canals of South Holland.
Sept.19 to 26th, 3 mast sailing ship “Mare Fan Fryslan”, to explore coastal islands and areas north of Amsterdam.
What: We start the adventure on Saturday Sept.12th aboard the river boat “De Amsterdam” for the tour of the south part of the Netherlands. The tour will include a sailing through Utrecht into Rotterdam. Biking will be through the historic town areas of Gouda and Delft. The adventure continues in the Haarlem region and Zaandam before the return to Amsterdam. For those who choose, or continue from the first trip, on Saturday Sept.19th, we take the train to Enkhuizen where we board the Mare Fan Fryslan (3 mast sailing ship) for a sailing trip to northern Netherland ports.
Where: Meet in Amsterdam to acclimatize and then start the adventure. On Saturday Sept.12th board the river boat “De Amsterdam” for the tour of South Holland. For those doing the North Tour only, on Saturday Sept.19th, we will meet at Amsterdam Central train station to take the train to Enkhuizen where we board the Mare Fan Fryslan (3 mast sailing ship) for a sailing trip to northern Netherland ports.
